Your Role: 

We are seeking a compelling leader who will oversee the execution and evaluation of programming and experience at Lunar Startups, powered by Knight Foundation and a program of the Glen Nelson Center at American Public Media. In this role will help in creating a highly collaborative incubator experience through transformative experiences and programming to support the success of a diverse group of entrepreneurs and startup businesses. 

Lunar Startups is an incubator for early-stage startups with a strong commitment to entrepreneurs from underrepresented and underserved communities. Lunar creates jobs and supports vitality in Saint Paul by giving founders access to critical resources such as shared office space, training programs, essential business services, and a powerful mentorship network. 

Lunar is a program of the Glen Nelson Center at American Public Media investing in entrepreneurial ventures for the benefit of MPR|APM, its audiences, and mission. The Center future-proofs APMG through strategic investments and high-risk, high-reward experiments aimed at new audiences, technology, and sources of revenue. 

The Lunar program experience will be led by a Program Manager with demonstrated leadership experience supporting entrepreneurs and startup businesses. The Program Manager of Lunar must have experience in program and event development and execution. In addition, the Program Manager will be responsible in evaluating the success of the programming and experiences for Lunar's participants.The Program Manager will report to the Managing Director of Lunar at American Public Media and will enjoy all the benefits of being an APM Employee.

Position Responsibility: 

  • Design and execute unique experiences based on needs of Lunar Startups including education, mentoring, programming and opportunities for visibility. Examples might include education development related to raising capital, onboarding new team members and developing a sales funnel for startups.
  • Ensure program is following best practices and executing upon outlined content and curriculum of the Lunar process and delivering the best possible experience.
  • Own the overall logistics and programming of the program, including calendar and technology management (mentors, speakers, and events).
  • Create and manage evaluation tools and processes to track, measure and report on Lunar startups.
  • Share best practices for DEI with startup leadership through appropriate channels.
  • Report and publicly share work and outcomes of efforts.
  • Develop and track quality, operational execution and customer success metrics.
  • Manage relationships and coordinate scheduling of mentors, investors and corporate partners.
  • Engage with founders, mentors, and investors to ensure the successful execution of programs.
  • Represent Lunar in the local community, both actively and passively. 

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years' equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in startup support experience
  • Strong background in programming and experience development
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience interacting and working with executive level company officers

  • Detailed oriented, and well-organized with the capacity to develop, coordinate, and report on complex projects in a fast-paced, creative environment
