Position Summary:


The Development Officer, Leadership Circle is responsible for managing SCPR's upper-level membership program, the Leadership Circle (revenue responsibility of approximately $2.2M in the current fiscal year). As the central point of contact for Leadership Circle donors, you will develop plans to elevate awareness of the Leadership Circle and build successful programs that will increase the number of Leadership Circle supporters and their overall philanthropic giving. Strategies will include targeted campaigns, direct mail and electronic appeals, and other promotions. This role works collaboratively with the Individual Giving Specialist, who supports Leadership Circle program implementation. You will also collaborate with the membership team and other departments to coordinate and align activities across the organization.


Position Responsibility:

  • Develops an annual Leadership Circle and Annual Fund plan and timeline to achieve annual goals.
  • Manages the Leadership Circle ($1,500 - $25,000+) campaigns for annual renewals as well as personalized cultivation, acquisition and stewardship.
  • Works with the Director of Individual Giving to develop strategies and tactics to realize the long-term growth potential of unrestricted operating revenue from Leadership Circle donors.
  • Develops and implements a comprehensive communications plan and calendar to retain and increase Leadership Circle membership and encourage upgrades. Responsible for developing an engaging benefits structure, the production of Leadership Circle program materials, and personalized written communications and on-air messaging.
  • Collaborates with the Individual Giving Specialist on fulfilment of Leadership Circle benefits and implementing communications and mailing plans.
  • Collaborates with the Events Manager on conceiving of new and engaging events.
  • Collaborates with the Membership team to develop Leadership Circle acquisition strategies and engagement activities that impact donors at all giving levels.
  • Develops and manages the Annual Fund Campaign plan to secure additional revenue from Leadership Circle members twice a year.
  • Tracks and analyzes results to evaluate the effectiveness of solicitation strategies and to inform ongoing strategy development.
  • Maintains a portfolio of approximately 20 donors.
  • Hosts in-person station tours and donor visits as needed.
  • Participates in weekend and evening events as needed.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of applicable experience with increasing responsibilities is required.
  • Experience with face-to-face donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship; capacity to motivate a community to further engage in a culture of philanthropy.
  • Experience working with donor relationship management and gift processing systems, data analysis and reporting.


Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Salesforce and Cognos data management software.
  • Experience liaising with partners based remotely.
  • Experience managing complex data systems to track results and identify giving trends.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft-based software and CRM tools.
