Position Summary:

 

KPCC is fortunate to have one of the largest member bases among Los Angeles nonprofits. We have a hard-working and dynamic team that is committed to growing Individual Giving revenue by 10% this fiscal year, and you can help support us in doing so. As a member of the Individual Giving team, you will provide critical administrative support and work with team members to develop and implement stewardship strategies that nurture and strengthen long-term relationships with donors. Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the production of regular e-communications, including the Leadership Circle newsletter, breaking news, new programming, special events and organization announcements.
  • Co-ordinate the timing and process for new acquisition, renewals and upgrades, other solicitations and acknowledgements for Leadership Circle donors, including merging, printing and mailing all letters and updating and tracking this information in Salesforce.
  • Assist in the implementation and fulfillment of Leadership Circle donor benefits.
  • Provide input into all written and spoken donor communications, including event scripts, proposals, renewal and acknowledgement letters, website copy and on-air spots.
  • Co-ordinate and negotiate on-air spots for the Individual Giving team and recommend strategic use of spots.
  • Monitor and follow local news and inform members of the Individual Giving team of potential prospects and news regarding current donors and prospects.
  • Monitor and follow SCPR's news coverage and recommend stories of interest to share with donors to MGOs.
  • Work with Institutional Giving and the newsroom to gather and share evidence of the impact of our service with MGOs to assist them in maintaining personal contact with donors, in reporting on the impact of a donation to the donor and in writing proposals.
  • Encourage, gather and produce testimonials from donors, recommending donors to profile on-air, in the Annual Report and at donor events.
  • Conduct donor intelligence surveys following events to gain donor insights that help to continually improve donor engagement.
  • Manage the team's calendars regarding the scheduling of events and activities.
  • Work at all development events.
  • Handle phone calls and questions from the constituents.
  • Other support to the Individual Giving team as required.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in an annual giving or leadership circle member giving program.
  • Experience in contacting donors and/or customer service.
  • Experience in producing written donor communications.
  • Experience with donor relationship management tools.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Annual fund and/or major gift experience.
  • Experience in donor research and profile development.
  • Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar email marketing service.
  • Experience working with the public in an external capacity.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar customer/donor relationship management system.

  • Excellent communications skills, interpersonal and written.
  • A professional and resourceful style; the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative and to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a fast-paced, ambitious environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft-based software.

  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical Demands: 
    • Required to occasionally move about in an office environment to access file cabinets, printers, etc., and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and printer.
    • Frequent use of hands for data entry/keystrokes and simple grasping.
