Southern California Public Radio (SCPR) is a member-supported public media network whose mission is to strengthen the civic and cultural bonds that unite Southern California's diverse communities by providing the highest quality news and information service on air at 89.3 KPCC, online at LAist.com and through KPCC In Person. Since our founding in 1999, SCPR has been a fast growing, innovative, multi-platform public service newsroom. Position Summary:

This is a six-month engagement, with option to renew.

The Project Manager will facilitate the development, planning, and growth of initiatives involving a coalition of major market public radio stations that will redefine what public radio can be in the digital age. During this six-month engagement (with option to renew) the Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders across multiple organizations and in multiple cities to build a program that maximizes and monetizes the product development initiatives of these stations. The PM will execute a range of strategic and tactical tasks directed by the members of the Coalition and its working groups.

The PM will be an employee of Southern California Public Radio. Remote work may be possible 1-2 days per week.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates and facilitates communication among coalition teams and stakeholders, initiative working groups, and serves as a central point of contact for 3rd parties (ex. NPR, vendors, etc.)
  • Develops execution plans and timelines in service of achieving rapid progress
  • Manages project scope and deliverables, escalating risks and issues to appropriate teams and stakeholders.
  • Identifies areas that require decisions and leads conversations to achieve consensus among stakeholders
  • Creates agendas, schedules meetings, and produces detailed notes and follow up deliverables
  • Develops proposals in collaboration with stakeholders and creates presentations and high visibility communications
  • Manages the PMK bi-weekly calls and in-person convenings

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a project manager, preferably in a media company
  • Previous experience working on projects pertaining to digital technology, preferably in a media environment
  • Deep technical background to lead conversations with multiple stakeholders about enterprise-level publishing, audio delivery, and customer relations management systems (CRM)

  • Self-motivated and a self-starter.
  • Possess excellent customer services skills and a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and willingness to learn new software applications
  • Experience working with Senior Leaders across multiple organizations with efficiency and tact
  • Regular travel required
