Who we are:

The APM Podcast team serves a diverse range of audiences and communities through its audience loved and award winning podcasts, including Terrible, Thanks for Asking, Too Beautiful to Live, Brains On!, The Hilarious World of Depression, The Splendid Table, and The Slowdown. In addition, it has more than half dozen podcasts in discussion or development, and it is committed to developing new shows to serve new audiences. 

 

Intern, Digital Production - APM Podcasts

You will have the opportunity to work with content, marketing, and experienced digital product producers to support existing editorial calendar production. Responsibilities will include weekly digital production support, reviewing and re-packaging existing content, and drafting social media messages. During this internship, you will directly lead at least one distinct digital content or social project from beginning to end.

 

Key Learning Goals:

  • How to create, maintain, and build on digital editorial calendars.
  • How to identify podcasts fans and supporters on social media to better engage with them.
  • How to propose, produce, and deliver digital project packages on deadline.

Ultimately, this could be a wonderful chance to observe and begin to learn how experienced content producers serve an audience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directly support existing digital podcast publishing.
  • Review, collect, and connect podcast related content by topic from existing sites and social media.
  • Draft social media messages for multiple podcasts across varied social media channels/ networks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrolled Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in an undergraduate or Master's program OR have earned a degree within the last 12 months.
  • General knowledge and basic publishing skills in social media platforms, primarily Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Primary interest in digital production and social media.
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Proficient in text document and spreadsheet programs.
  • Comfortable with self-directed online training.
  • A team player who is interested, accountable, and solution oriented.
  • Creative thinker and idea generator.
  • Ability to successfully meet deadlines and handle multiple projects/responsibilities on a consistent basis.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Content management platform experience (example: Wordpress or similar).
