Fellow, Marketing

Glen Nelson Center is seeking a highly motivated and self-starting Marketing Fellow to drive the visibility and storytelling of Glen Nelson's mission: to advance Public Media through entrepreneurship. The Marketing Fellow will play a critical role on the team in helping market and communicate the importance of our mission, the impact of the Ventures in Residence program and the growth of participating companies and deepen our connection to the local and national Entrepreneurial ecosystem. This will be achieved through developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns; maintaining promotional materials including websites; planning meetings and events to showcase the mission; maintaining databases and preparing data driven reports that will inform new ideas and innovations. Glen Nelson Center is looking for a candidate that exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit, has their finger on the pulse of emerging innovative ideas and storytelling and who is passionate about helping grow wealth and opportunity in our community. Ideal candidates demonstrate creativity, teamwork, and the ability to dig into details to accomplish goals while rooted in an authentic voice that represents the awesome diversity of the participants at Glen Nelson Center.


Key Learning Goals:

The Fellow will practice transferable, professional skills like self-directing projects and deadlines, collaborating across a highly adaptive team in a fast-paced environment, and working with a diverse population of clients with unique needs.



  • Creates and implements marketing and advertising campaigns by assembling and analyzing data and industry trends.
  • Works with Business Operations Manager to plan publicly facing meetings and events by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating mailing lists.
  • Works with Executive Director to develop marketing content directly related to Glen Nelson Center's mission, and to promote members of the Ventures in Residence Accelerator program.
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.



  • Partial subsidy for onsite parking or bus transportation. Day to day transportation is your responsibility.
  • Eligible to accrue for sick and safe time off.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program or have 2-4 years of related work experience.
  • Previous work or experience supporting startups Experience or willingness to learn Adobe design products.
  • Competency in Google Drive programs.
  • Ability to write, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Direct marketing, market segmentation, and marketing research.
  • Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience.
  • Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities we're lean so we all have to roll up our sleeves!
  • Comfortable with a minimal amount of direction but high expectations.
  • Demonstrated experience on Twitter and MailChimp. 
  • Experience or willingness to learn Adobe design products.
  • Ability to manage time and task load independently.
  • Ability to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management and reporting research results.
  • Experience in event planning and event logistics.
  • Ability to learn new computer programs quickly.
