Live from Here is produced and distributed nationwide by American Public Media, and is heard by nearly 2 million listeners each week on nearly 600 public radio stations, online, and on the American Forces Networks, SiriusXM Radio, Radio New Zealand, and KPRG in Guam.

Each week, Live from Here, hosted by singer/songwriter/mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile welcomes a wide range of well-known and up-and-coming talent from musicians to comedians to spoken word artists to share the stage and create a unique listening experience. Millions of listeners tune in on air, online, and in the theater, for an evening of world-class entertainment.

Your Role:

We are looking for a highly organized professional to support the operations for Live from Here. In this role, you will work with many functional areas including production, commerce, distribution, digital, underwriting, marketing, research, membership, and communications.

Position Responsibility:

  • Support in expense reporting, payments, coding, and forecasting.
  • Budget development under direction from Managing Director and input from other staff.
  • Coordinate maintaining and ordering office supplies and small office equipment needs. 
  • Coordinate any repairs or updates/maintenance needed for office equipment and facilities, such as copiers, IT service, office furniture, etc.
  • Provide clerical and office support including: preparing documents, communications, expense reports, tracking contracts and payments, booking flights and hotels, data entry, meeting coordination and calendars, research, reporting, filing, ordering meals, etc.
  • Provide first point of contact for all unsolicited external communications including: phone calls, e-mail, answering doors and mail.
  • Track unsolicited submissions and gifts.
  • Assist in development of and staff training in use of internal systems.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of all public areas.
  • Support day-of-show activities including comp lists and merchandise.
  • Responsible for all shipping needs: USPS, FedEx, UPS and Freight services, domestic and international.
  • Provide quarterly reporting and payments to ASCAP, BMI, AFM, and SAG AFTRA
  • Work with archival systems creation, maintenance, and updating
  • Maintain contact list and other internal documentation.
  • Provide underwriting reporting for Live from Here.
  • Prepare merchandise for upcoming shows and coordinate shipments.
  • Coordinate merchandise ordering and inventories.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 or more years of administrative support experience or other relevant work experience.
  • Expert Microsoft Office skills with significant experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Solid interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive, diplomatic relationships with creative and energetic professionals.
  • Self- motivated and self-starter anticipating needs of staff and moving forward with limited or no direction.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allow successful interaction internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of public media, live performance, and/or entertainment industry preferred.
